The chafe-guard prevents any wear or burn caused by friction from the control lines or the spinnaker. The chafe-guard material protects the bladder and provides a slippery surface for the spinnaker to run over during hoists and drops. The chafe-guard also attaches the inflatable bladder to the spinnaker sock with strong zips.

When the CT SnuffAir is supplied with a spinnaker sock and control line pocket, the pocket is made from material with excellent heat resistant properties. The material of the control-line pocket helps prevent damage to the spinnaker sock, and potentially to the spinnaker itself, prolonging the life of both.
The control line pocket is used on small to moderate sized spinnakers, up to a maximum of approx 1500 sqm.

For use on larger spinnakers, the snuffer is hoisted with a separate halyard and lowered with a single down line. The sock is fitted with plastic “hoops” to prevent the sock from falling through the snuffer ring.
